What is TIIIE?

TIIIE is an acronym for The Institute for Inventions, Innovations and Entrepreneurship , which has been set up at KRMU to introduce programmes and courses aimed at encouraging and enabling students to develop habits of inventive and innovative thinking. Instead of inculcating in them examination oriented, derivative learning, courses under TIIIE will ensure that the students develop skill based hands-on learning in such sites as Engineering Kitchen, Smart Ashram and Digital Humanities.

What is the fee structure for these programmes?

All TIIIE programmes (except B.A Hons. Chinese) have an annual fee of INR 2.87 lakhs. Semester-wise this is INR 1.5 lakhs for semester I and INR 1.37 lakhs for Semester II.

What is the required eligibility to be enrolled in the course?

Any candidate who has passed 10+2 in any Discipline under the CBSE or ICSE is eligible to apply for courses under TIIIE.
Science stream with Mathematics is required for seeking admission for BSc/ BTech in Innovation, IT and Entrepreneurship and BTech in Digital Humanities

What is the duration of the courses?

The following courses are of three years duration each:

Do these courses involve practical training?

Most of these courses are project based. There are also time slots dedicated for projects with mentors from leading industries.
Students are also expected to undergo internship programmes.

Is prior knowledge/training in computer science required to do the course?

Some basic working knowledge of computers and smart phones is expected of the students. No technical prior knowledge required.

Is prior knowledge of mathematics/ physics required?

Not for all courses under TIIIE. However, students ought to have prior knowledge of both Mathematics and Physics for the B.Tech degrees and for B.Sc (Innovation, IT & Entrepreneurship).

Is prior knowledge of Chinese required to do B.A (Hons.) Chinese?

Prior knowledge of Chinese is not required for B.A (Hons.) Chinese

What are the future Career Options?

TIIIE programmes aim at introducing students to the tools, technologies and their understanding in the field of innovation and IT. There is an increasing demand for graduates well-versed in a combination of digital skills, core knowledge and hands on approach to work in a variety of professional environments, from institutions, start-ups to the emerging job markets of information management.

The course introduces professional training and project that enables the student for professional placement.

Graduates can either pursue further studies and go on to specialize further, or start their own companies, or they can join many IT driven firms, such as Google.

    Not necessary but desirable

    Not a requirement.
    Only B. Tech (Digital Humanities) requires prior knowledge of Maths and Science.

    How is Digital Humanities different from traditional English and other humanities courses?

    Traditional disciplines are usually taught and practiced with traditional methodologies. Those with a DH component will be introduced to the new methodologies aided by digital technology.

    How is B.A (Honours) in Digital Humanities different from B. Tech in Digital Humanities?

    BA (Honours) in Digital Humanities is a 3 year programme and students of all streams in 10+2 examination (Humanities, Commerce or Science) are eligible to apply.

    B.Tech in Digital Humanities is a 4 year programme with more emphasis on technology. The eligibility for B Tech in Digital Humanities is same as other B. Tech programmes. No candidate shall be admitted to the course unless she/he has passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and also 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level of examination.

    What are the future Career Options?

    The programmes in Digital Humanities introduce projects and internship that enable the student for professional qualification and placement. The courses are designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the way humanities use or can use the digital tools to conduct research, organize materials, analyse and publish research findings.

    Innovation, IT & Entrepreneurship is an interdisciplinary field of study where the students are prepared for industry a strong understanding of Computer Science, Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, Material Sciences, Mathematics and Business Management. The main objective is to prepare the students with a strong understanding of all relevant subjects and latest technology with hands on approach to innovate in the field of his/her choice.

    B Sc. Hons (Innovation, IT& Entrepreneurship) is a 3 year programme which gives the students a strong understanding of Computer Science, Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, Material Sciences, Mathematics and Business Management. The programme, B. Tech in Innovation, IT & Entrepreneurship, is a 4 year engineering degree that aims at introducing students to the tools, technologies and their understanding in the field of innovation and IT.

    The programme, B.Sc Hons. (Innovation, IT & Entrepreneurship), is mapped with B. Sc Hons. Computer Science at Middlesex University, London. Students can complete the first year of education at KRMU and finish the other 2 years at Middlesex University to get a degree from there (B. Sc Hons. Computer Science at Middlesex University, London). This will supplement the knowledge offered at
    KRMU with enhanced infrastructure and facilities and give international exposure to the students

    What are the different specializations under Innovation, IT & Entrepreneurship programmes?

    The student is given multiple options in the third year of study to specialize in any of the following streams:

    A. Computer Science (from KRMU or Middlesex University)
    B. Mathematics
    C. Electronics
    D. Material Science.

    How can an applicant apply for the summer programme at Middlesex University?

    Students can answer the questionnaire on the website for applying for the summer programme. They will be then called for an interview.

    What kind of projects/ course work is included in the summer programme at Middlesex University?

    The summer programme is a comprehensive learning experience at Middlesex university, London offered by their faculty. It includes projects in coding, digital media, photography. This will enable students to design and build their own 'Experience App' using industry-standard Adobe XD software that can be a record of their visit to the UK. . Over the course of three weeks students will visit many sites in London, Oxford, Stratford on Avon and Brighton.

    Who will sponsor the summer programme?

    K R Mangalam University will fully sponsor the 3 week long summer programme at Middlesex University, London for applicants who get selected through the application process and interview.
